Must Have Technology for Maximum Productivity in Your Home Office

Whether you are self-employed or working remotely from home for your place of employment, the one thing you know is that you must have your home office set up for maximum productivity. There is no way around it if you want to get things done. Unfortunately, there may be more than a few distractions interfering with your work, so perhaps it’s time to let technology in to help you minimize those distractions to ensure maximum productivity. Let’s look at some of that must-have technology you will really need.

1. Adjustable Height Smart Desk

There are times when you have been sitting at your desk so long that you feel your head drooping as you are about to drift off to sleep. One of the most amazing pieces of technology for times like this is an adjustable height smart desk to use with Lenovo PCs for Office productivity. If you feel yourself drifting off, simply raise the height of your desk so that you can work for a while in a standing position. It’s rather hard to be productive while you are sleeping but it’s equally hard to drift off while standing. If ever there was a handy piece of technology for the home office, it would be a smart desk like this.

2. Noise Canceling Headset

Even if you’ve situated your home office at the quietest place in your home, there is bound to be noise filtering in from time to time. This is especially counterproductive if you are on a conference call with a client or other members of a team. A noise canceling headset prevents background sounds from disturbing you while preventing them from being heard by others on the conference call as well.

3. HD Webcam

You will probably need to videoconference clients, team members, and even suppliers from time to time. An HD webcam is also a necessary bit of technology if you are in sales. These can be easily mounted on a desktop tripod, or they can be clipped to your monitor. Nothing hinders productivity more than an inability to see and hear everyone in a meeting so you will most definitely need to make sure those on the other end of cyberspace have a clear image of you and anything you may be trying to demonstrate.

4. External Hard Drive

There is nothing worse than losing a file, or files, you have been working hard on for days on end. Whether it’s from a weather event or a system crash, you will want to have a ready backup in the event that you lose everything you’ve worked so hard on. While you may be able to save your work in the Cloud, it never hurts to have a local backup as well as a Cloud backup of all your important files.

As more and more professionals and entrepreneurs are working from their home offices, technology is becoming increasingly important. If you want to ensure maximum productivity, at least start with these four pieces of technology. There may come a time when you are eternally grateful for that technology that literally saved the day, and this is a good place to start.
